Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• 2-3 holidays required from Thanksgiving to New Year's
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6 on 55-bed unit
• Care for patients with joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbations, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, orthopedic trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive
• Required to titrate heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips; manage PCA pumps
• Float to other medical surgical areas or units with med-surg patients as needed
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA required), ACLS preferred
• Must pass open book skills exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue
• 2-day unit-specific orientation provided
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs required
• Must maintain artificial nail prohibition policy
• Driver's license required for 50-mile radius verification
• Use EPIC charting system
• Work with diverse patient population including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese speaking patients
• Focus on hourly rounding, responsiveness, and managing multiple discharges and admissions daily
