The position is for a locum Internal Medicine Physician to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans in Houston, Virginia. The role involves interview-based medical evaluations without prescribing or treatment duties, offering flexible shifts on a PRN basis. Candidates must have an unrestricted medical license, relevant experience, and be willing to complete DMA certification training.

We are seeking General Medicine Providers to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for our nation's Veterans. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the flexibility of a locum position.
Our practice, Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), operates as a government contractor committed to supporting Veterans across the country. Positioning in the heart of Houston, we provide two options for coverage, depending on your preferences and current needs.
Job Responsibilities:- Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform primarily interview-based exams with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Complete administrative tasks related to addendums, medical opinions, and diagnostics reading as part of your regular duties.
- Work on a PRN basis, with the flexibility to choose half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts.
- Collaborate with Veterans to assess their health needs without any prescribing or treatment responsibilities.
- Participate in quick credentialing and onboarding to begin your practice as soon as possible.
- Proficient in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
- Must own a compatible laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
- Active and unrestricted full medical license required.
- Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
- Willingness to complete DMA training for certification.
- Located within a 50-mile radius of Houston preferred.
- Current medical license number.
- Certification number related to your specialty.
- Willingness to perform General Medicine duties.
- DMA certified status (if applicable).
