Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float position in Ohio requiring an OH or compact RN license and expertise in telemetry and IV start skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float pool environment
- May float to any stepdown or PCU area and potentially to other on-campus locations (Ross Heart, Brain & Spine, Dodd)
- Expected to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Patient ratios are typically 1:3-4
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
- Uses Epic EMR system with experience required
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after signing contract
- No RTO will be accepted between February 15, 2026 and February 28, 2026
- Former employees are eligible if separated from the facility for at least 6 months
- Current employees are not eligible to be hired as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Time off requests must be included at the time of initial consideration
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PCU or stepdown setting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficient in IV start and telemetry skills
- Epic EMR experience required
- Degree must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role
