PACU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Burlington, Vermont 05401
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: December 18, 2025
• End Date: January 15, 2026
• Contract Duration: 4 weeks
• Shift: 10-hour evening shifts (10:00–20:30 or 12:00–22:30); some Saturdays required
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,260 – $2,420
• Weekend and holiday shifts required
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not accessible)
• Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires November–April

PACU RN Qualifications & Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont or compact state (required for Vermont nursing jobs)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)
• Infusion specialty experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent high-acuity PACU RN experience in a large teaching hospital
• Proficient in critical care, arterial lines, titrating drips, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience providing post-anesthesia care for pediatric and adult patients
• Recent EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)
• Ability to work scheduled holidays and weekends
• Complete work history required for submission; explain employment gaps over 90 days

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care to pediatric and adult patients in a clinical healthcare setting
• Monitor and manage patients with critical care needs, including arterial lines, titrating drips, and cardiac monitoring
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced, high-acuity PACU environment
• Administer medications and infusions as ordered by physicians
• Accurately document patient care and assessments in EPIC EMR
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as required
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing patient needs and PACU unit demands
