Position Details:
- Patient Population: Hospital-based practice
- Setting: Hospital-based
- Responsibilities: Clinical lab duties including blood bank (resolving difficult antibodies), hematology (reviewing abnormal peripheral blood smears), attending fine needle aspirations and providing adequacy statements, and performing various pathology procedures.
- Required Procedures:
- Anatomic Pathology Procedures: Surgical Pathology, GI Pathology, GU Pathology, Dermatopathology, Cytology, Autopsy
- Clinical Pathology Procedures: Hematology, Microbiology, Chemistry/Serology, Blood Bank
- EMR System: CoPath
- Support Staff: 1.5 physicians, 4 histotechnologists, 1 pathology assistant, 2 cytotechnologists
- On-Call/Weekends: Yes
Requirements:
- Licensing: Active Iowa License (or willingness to obtain)
- Certification: Board Certified, APCP boards required
- Other: Estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days
