Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool night shift assignment requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Assignment based in a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Float between medical-surgical units at main hospital and Ashley River Tower
- Patient ratios may vary depending on the assigned unit
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Uses Epic EMR system
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, based on unit needs
- All RNs must wear solid royal blue or a white top with royal blue bottoms
- Pre-assignment online modules must be completed
- Holiday coverage is required as part of the rotation
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
- Parking requires a $20 registration fee for a garage hang tag
- Time-off requests exceeding 7 days or including holidays require facility approval and may delay placement
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license required to begin assignment
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Must provide valid driver’s license and SSN for consideration
- Experience with Epic preferred
- Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility or will be considered as locals
- Previous permanent staff, including PRN, must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as travelers
