Position Overview: Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Travel RN to join the Progressive Care Unit for night shift coverage. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical experience in step-down or ICU settings and be committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment
- Perform assessments, administer medications, and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes with appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols
- Support patient and family education regarding treatment and recovery
Qualifications:
- Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a step-down or ICU setting
- Must Have Skills/Experience: Proven competency in progressive care or critical care environments
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
