American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department position in New Mexico, requiring a compact RN license and TNCC certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department within a teaching and acute care hospital
- Handles a high volume of admissions, with many patients held in the ED
- Assigned to a patient ratio of 1:5
- Shifts are night (3x12hr, 19:00-07:30), with both 36 or 48 hour weekly options
- Weekend shifts required as needed, with defined weekend nights and days
- Expected to float to Adult PCUs; optional floating to Peds ED; may float to ED Holding or Trauma based on staffing needs
- Uses Cerner EMR system
- Responsibilities include medication administration (including IV) and thorough clinical documentation and communication
- The hospital provides a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment with strong support for travelers
- Black scrubs required and not provided on site
- Free parking available onsite
- First-time travelers will be considered, but travel experience and Level 1 Trauma background are strongly preferred
- Any requested time off exceeding 7 days requires approval
- Active NM or compact RN license; pending license accepted at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required; candidates with Level 1 Trauma experience highly preferred
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC at time of consideration), and NIHSS (NIH can be obtained by compliance deadline)
- COVID-19 vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions accepted with documentation
- No local candidates within a 75-mile radius considered
