Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room setting during scheduled shifts
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care for all patients
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, responses, and actions taken
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document all procedures per policy
- Identify and address patient and family education and discharge needs throughout the care episode
- Oversee and supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel in clinical tasks
- Complete patient education and competency testing as per unit standards
Required Qualifications
- Current nursing license for the State of New Mexico or a Compact State license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a large Emergency Department
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications via American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or similar
- Successful passage of onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during the first week of assignment; failure may lead to dismissal
- Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment

- Experience with Epic electronic health records (preferred but not required; training available)
