Qualifications:
- Education: Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Certification: CPR certification is required. Additional certifications or specialization in areas such as orthopedics, neurology, or pediatrics may be preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Physical Therapist is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in conducting assessments, creating treatment plans, and implementing a variety of physical therapy techniques.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and assisting patients as needed, and performing physically demanding tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical conditions, medical history, and treatment goals to develop personalized therapy plans.
- Treatment Planning: Design and implement effective physical therapy programs that include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, modalities, and other interventions to address patients' needs.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on the treatment plan, exercises, and home care techniques to maximize their progress and independence.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly evaluate and adjust treatment plans based on patients' progress, goals, and any changes in their condition.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including initial assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and ensure a holistic approach to rehabilitation.
- Pain Management: Utilize pain management techniques and modalities to reduce pain and improve patients' comfort.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' needs and communicate with insurance providers and other stakeholders as necessary.
