This role is for an Internal Medicine Physician to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments primarily for Veterans, either per diem at a facility or remotely. The physician will perform non-treatment evaluations including interviews and physical assessments, complete required documentation, and participate in training and credentialing. The position requires an active unrestricted medical license and relevant certifications, offering flexible shifts in Houston, South Dakota.
Summary: We are seeking dedicated General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This role offers two options for coverage: working per diem at a facility or from your own office, ideally located within 50 miles of the designated city. You will be part of a reputable organization serving our nation's Veterans, facilitating their healthcare needs in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities:- Conduct one-time, non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform exams primarily based on interviews, with some physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Complete all necessary documentation and submit reports including any addendums.
- Participate in ongoing training and quick credentialing processes.
- Work on a PRN basis, with options for day (4 hours) or full day (8 hours) shifts.
- Collaborate with Veterans and provide them with quality assessments without prescribing or providing treatments.
- Proficient in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
- Must own a laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
- AANP certified and active, unrestricted physician license is required.
- Willingness to complete DMA training for certification.
- Experience related to general medicine or compensation and pension assessments is advantageous.
- Active and unrestricted full medical license in the relevant state.
- AANP or relevant certification.
- DMA certification upon completion of training.
