We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for a dynamic role serving both inpatient and outpatient populations in a rural healthcare setting. This position requires strong clinical independence, adaptability, and the ability to manage patients across the continuum of care, from acute hospitalization through outpatient rehabilitation.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform Physical Therapy evaluations and treatments
- Provide care across inpatient (approximately 25%) and outpatient (approximately 75%) settings
- Inpatient areas include Acute Care, ICU, Med/Surg, Observation, and Skilled Nursing
- Outpatient services provided primarily in a hospital-based PT clinic
- Float as needed to ER, ICU, Med/Surg, SNF, and occasionally OB
- Manage inpatient mobility progression and discharge planning from acute to SNF levels
- Maintain a full daily caseload averaging 5–15 patients
- Conduct new evaluations (60 minutes) and follow-up treatments every 30–45 minutes
- Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care across diverse diagnoses
- Active Hawaii Physical Therapist license required (must be obtained prior to start; expedited licensure expected)
- Minimum 2 years of Physical Therapy experience
- Ability to work independently in a rural healthcare environment
- Strong clinical skills across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Comfortable floating between departments as needed
- BLS/BCLS certification required
- Small-bed rural hospital setting
- Combination of inpatient units and outpatient clinic
- Collaborative, interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Holiday work is required when scheduled
- Flexibility in work hours may be necessary based on patient needs and staffing demands
