We re seeking an experienced Medical Director Mental Health to lead and oversee community-based psychiatric and behavioral health services. The role involves a mix of clinical, administrative, and supervisory responsibilities, ensuring quality care and effective coordination across mental health, substance use disorder, and developmental disability programs.

• Provide outpatient and emergency psychiatric assessments and treatment.

• Offer psychiatric consultation for individual patients, law enforcement, and courts.

• Conduct court evaluations and order hospital commitments when indicated.

• Supervise physicians, psychiatrists, and clinical program directors.

• Oversee quality of services, privileging, and professional development of clinical staff.

• Collaborate with community physicians, hospitals, and partner agencies.

• Participate in policy development, staff training, and program evaluation.

• Assist the Commissioner of Mental Health in planning and implementing comprehensive community mental health services.

• MD or DO with a license to practice medicine in New York State.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (required).

• Minimum 1 year of supervisory or administrative experience in a clinical or behavioral health setting.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Deep understanding of modern psychiatric practices and community mental health systems.

• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across psychiatry, substance use, and developmental services.

• Familiarity with New York State Mental Hygiene Law and public health systems.
