Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with ICU background for a night shift ICU position at a medical telemetry unit, requiring active NJ or compact RN licensure.
Responsibilities
- Work in an ICU setting within a medical telemetry unit
- Shift schedule is 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Patient population includes pediatric through geriatric patients
- Uses Epic EMR system for charting
- Potential floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required
- Responsibilities include thorough patient assessments, direct care, and safe transfer techniques
- Requires comprehensive knowledge of growth and development from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Expected to maintain accurate and thorough documentation per professional guidelines
- Must provide patient education and perioperative assessment as needed
- Requirement to follow safety goals and universal protocols
- Scrub or dress code requirements not specified
- Holiday coverage may be expected according to unit needs
- Assignment duration is up to one calendar year from initial start date, with a mandatory 30-60 day break before returning for a new assignment
- First-time travelers accepted, provided all requirements are met
Requirements
- Active NJ or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year recent ICU experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (no locals)
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
