Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification to provide therapy services across multiple acute care settings.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care setting with coverage for outpatient, inpatient, and skilled nursing facility patients
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekend or on-call requirements
- Unit has 8 beds and uses Epic (One Chart) for computerized charting
- Role involves using various modality equipment to deliver therapy interventions
- Primarily based in an outpatient hospital setting with some inpatient/sub-acute coverage
- Responsibilities include evaluation, development, and modification of therapy plans and education for patients and families
- Must follow clinical practice guidelines and regulatory requirements and maintain thorough and timely documentation
- Department provides standard orientation for safety, HIPAA, precautions, and equipment use
- Dress code is business casual
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Disclosure of any previous employment with Sanford Health is required and a 6-month separation from prior employment must be met
- Local candidates within 80 miles are accepted with a pay adjustment
Requirements
- Current state of SD Physical Therapist license required for consideration; license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of recent physical therapy experience
- Active BLS certification required
- Experience with Epic (One Chart) preferred
- Ability to treat a diverse patient population with varying diagnoses and age groups
