American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position requiring a MO or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, and strong tele/step-down background.
Responsibilities- Position is in a Telemetry/Step-Down unit at a Magnet, teaching, Level I trauma hospital
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
- Patient ratios are 1:4-5 on the unit
- Serves adult patients requiring telemetry and cardiac monitoring
- Travelers may be required to float within their scope to meet facility needs
- EPIC charting system is used and EPIC experience may be required for certain units
- Every other weekend work is required
- Responsibilities include providing telemetry and step-down care, managing EKG and cardiac drips, and monitoring cardiac patients
- Navy blue scrubs are required while on duty
- Travelers are required to complete facility modules and orientation prior to starting
- No on-call duties are required
- Holiday coverage may be required as per unit needs
- RTO is restricted to a maximum of 7 days for each 13-week contract and not permitted during the first week of orientation
- Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- All travelers can work for up to 18 months consecutively, then must take a 3-month break
- Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience in telemetry or step-down settings
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are required
- Prior experience with EKG interpretation and cardiac drips required
- Applicants must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
- No block scheduling accommodations are available
- Pending license is accepted for consideration
