Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position requiring a MO or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, and strong tele/step-down background.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Telemetry/Step-Down unit at a Magnet, teaching, Level I trauma hospital
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Patient ratios are 1:4-5 on the unit
• Serves adult patients requiring telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Travelers may be required to float within their scope to meet facility needs
• EPIC charting system is used and EPIC experience may be required for certain units
• Every other weekend work is required
• Responsibilities include providing telemetry and step-down care, managing EKG and cardiac drips, and monitoring cardiac patients
• Navy blue scrubs are required while on duty
• Travelers are required to complete facility modules and orientation prior to starting
• No on-call duties are required
• Holiday coverage may be required as per unit needs
• RTO is restricted to a maximum of 7 days for each 13-week contract and not permitted during the first week of orientation
• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All travelers can work for up to 18 months consecutively, then must take a 3-month break

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience in telemetry or step-down settings
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are required
• Prior experience with EKG interpretation and cardiac drips required
• Applicants must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
• No block scheduling accommodations are available
• Pending license is accepted for consideration
