This position is for an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to provide comprehensive orthopedic care, including arthroplasty, trauma/fracture management, and arthroscopy, at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. The role is a full-time, 1099 independent contractor opportunity involving outpatient clinics, operating room blocks, inpatient rounding, and 24/7 on-call duties. The surgeon will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, utilize the VA’s electronic health records, and serve a veteran patient population in a supportive clinical environment.
Position: Orthopedic SurgeonLocation: Oklahoma City, OK Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor Schedule: Full-time on-site + 24/7 call rotation Setting: VA Medical Center (Inpatient, Outpatient, OR) About the Opportunity:JR Enterprise is looking for a Provider to work at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System as an Orthopedic Surgeon delivering high-quality care to our nations Veterans. This 1099 contractor role offers consistent onsite clinical and surgical volume, predictable scheduling, and the ability to practice full-spectrum general orthopedicsincluding arthroplasty, arthroscopy, and trauma. Youll work alongside a dedicated VA care team while enjoying the flexibility and autonomy of an independent contractor engagement. Key Responsibilities : Provide comprehensive orthopedic care including arthroplasty, trauma/fracture care, arthroscopy, and general orthopedics. Staff outpatient clinics (MF, 8:004:30) and scheduled OR blocks (7:003:30). Perform consults, pre/post care, and inpatient rounding. Participate in a 24/7 call rotation; available by phone within 15 minutes and on-site within 60 minutes. Collaborate with VA staff, residents, and interdisciplinary teams. Complete documentation in the VAs CPRS/VistA EHR. Qualifications: MD or DO with completion of ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency. Board Certified or Board Eligible (ABOS). Valid, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state. Current BLS and ACLS. Minimum 2 years recent experience in: o Arthroplasty (hip/knee preferred) o Orthopedic trauma/fracture care Eligible for VA credentialing and privileging.
