Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NY license, BLS, and dysrhythmia management skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 14-bed Med/Surg Tele overflow unit accommodating ED boarder patients
- Flex space within a GI Endoscopy area with patient volume fluctuating based on demand
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00–07:00), with every other weekend required
- Floating to other units is required
- Uses Epic EMR (experience required)
- Block scheduling may be attempted but is not guaranteed
- Must provide safe care to ED boarder patients in a dynamic overflow setting
- Minimal requested time off is expected for this position
- Scrub colors are navy blue or white
- Isolation precautions must be followed as needed
- First time travelers are accepted
- Candidates living within 75 miles are not eligible
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required at the time of consideration
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
- Epic charting experience required
- Competency in IV placement, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code team participation, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
- Previous charge RN experience preferred
