Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position on a high-risk cardiology floor with 12-hour night shifts and IL RN license required.
Responsibilities
- Acute care hospital setting in a telemetry unit
- High-risk cardiology patient population, including management of cardiac drips, TAVR, post-CABG, and VATS patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5-6
- 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., three shifts per week
- Every other weekend is required
- No on-call required
- Floating required to all inpatient units at both hospital campuses as needed
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Responsibilities include bedside shift report and hourly rounding on all assigned patients
- Navy scrubs are required for this position
- Assignment is for 13 weeks with a maximum of 7 days of requested time off; no time off approved during the first week of orientation
- Magnet hospital environment with a total of 40 staffed beds on the unit
- Permanent former employees must wait 1 year before returning as travelers
- Must complete modules and fit testing as part of orientation
- Free parking is available
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience required
- Experience with cardiac drips, sheath pulls, and central line management required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers are accepted
