Key Job Details – ICU Nursing Jobs in Chicago- Location: Chicago, IL 60612
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Healthcare Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center; Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU
- Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/9/2025 – End: 3/10/2026)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Floating: Required between ICU units and Med-Surg units
- Orientation: First week on day shift for orientation and precepting
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910-$1960
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in an ICU setting
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license (must be in hand at submission)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (no COVID-19 exemptions; medical/religious exemptions for Flu only)
- Ability to float between various ICU specialties and Med-Surg units
- Strong compliance and responsiveness to deadlines
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU environment
- Monitor and manage patients with complex conditions, including ventilator support, vasoactive drips, and advanced cardiac monitoring
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs), manage central and arterial lines, and titrate IV vasopressors
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation using Cerner
- Follow strict infection control and isolation protocols
- Float between ICU units and Med-Surg units as needed to support facility operations
