Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87102 (New Mexico healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) – 8th Floor
• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
• Start Date: November 24, 2025
• End Date: February 23, 2026
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night Shift, 12-hour shifts (18:30 - 07:00); 4 shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1460-$1500
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Scrub Color: Any color (no logos)
• Charting System: Epic EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active NM or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital setting
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Ability to float to similar medical/surgical units as needed
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, including post-surgical and stroke recovery patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Epic EMR
• Administer medications and perform treatments as ordered by physicians
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, etc.)
• Float to like units within the hospital as required
• Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed
• Educate and support patients and their families throughout the care process
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment per hospital policies
