Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Responsibilities- Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized plan of care.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis by collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide patient information and status in a timely manner for team conferences and documentation according to policy.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and ensure patient care is a priority utilizing the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching upon admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Assure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies and procedures.
- Identify and pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
- Must have EPIC experience.
This position is for Night Shift, working three 12-hour shifts per week.
