IR Tech

Location: Olympia, WA

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 4x10 Days, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Day shift; On-call coverage: one weekday and one weekend per month

Hours per Week: 40

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain interventional radiology equipment and procedural trays to ensure smooth cases
  • Prepare access sites and assist as scrub or room circulator to support vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists
  • Maintain a sterile field and apply rigorous sterile technique throughout procedures
  • Operate and troubleshoot imaging systems such as Philips rooms, GE Innova IGS, and Siemens equipment
  • Assist with a wide variety of procedures including angiograms, biopsies, nephrostomy, stent placements, and embolizations
  • Accurately document procedures and patient care in Epic to support safe continuity of care
  • Participate in call rotation and provide on-call coverage as scheduled
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver efficient, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced IR department

Education

  • ARRT (R) certification (registered radiologic technologist)
  • BLS certification
  • Washington State professional license

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong sterile technique and ability to maintain the scrub role
  • Proficient in scrub procedures and room circulator responsibilities
  • Familiarity with PACS and imaging workflows
  • Hands-on experience with GE Innova IGS, Philips biplane rooms, and Siemens systems
  • Ability to set up procedural equipment and prep access sites efficiently
  • Comfort with a variety of IR procedures including angioplasty, stent placement, biopsies, nephrostomy, and embolization
  • Solid charting skills, preferably in Epic
  • Good teamwork, communication, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • IR/CV certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant Interventional Radiology or special procedures experience
  • Experience with Epic charting preferred
  • Comfortable working as scrub and room circulator; strong sterile technique
  • First-time travelers accepted; local permanent residents within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel contract
