American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk Antepartum unit, requiring a WA or compact RN license and advanced AWHONN certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a high-risk Antepartum unit caring for patients from 6 to 41 weeks gestation
- Patient population includes PTL, previa, preeclampsia, diabetes, hypertension, PROM, twins, and substance use disorder in pregnancy
- Float required to the Postpartum unit
- No newborns on the Antepartum unit; may care for postpartum mothers with babies in NICU or fetal demise cases
- Support for bedside amnio or sterile speculum exams and use of PCA pumps, PICC/central lines, syringe pumps, heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
- Night shifts (3x12 hours) from 19:00 to 07:30
- Epic EMR experience required
- Assist with sterile speculum exams, labor management, and care of patients with high-risk pregnancy complications
- Support is provided for bedside procedures and medication infusions
- Scrub colors are flexible; scrubs are provided when floating to L&D units
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Returning permanent staff from other Providence facilities must have a 3-month separation before applying
- Floating between facilities within the state is required
- RTO must be discussed during the application process and extensive requests may hinder consideration
- Some facilities may have a distance requirement for candidate eligibility
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent antepartum nursing experience required
- Advanced AWHONN, BLS, and NRP certifications required; ACLS preferred
- Previous experience assisting with C-sections, managing high-risk pregnancies, and handling central lines and medication drips
- Ability to float to related units as needed
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of recent employment in a comparable specialty required
