Job Description

As a Armed Security Officer - Medical Shelter Response in San Antonio, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a reassuring presence. This armed and driving post involves conducting regular patrols, maintaining visibility, and delivering exceptional customer service. *Must pass a Physical Fitness Exam (1 mile run- 12 minutes, 22 sit ups and 12 push ups)*

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas within the shelter environment to help to deter unauthorized access or disturbances.
• Document and report any unusual activity, security-related incidents, or maintenance issues observed during patrols.
• Work collaboratively with location staff and local law enforcement as needed for incident response and resolution.
• Remain alert and prepared to address emergency situations and/or security-related needs as they arise.

Minimum Requirements:

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Must have 3 years of either military, law enforcement or armed security experience. 
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton proficiency is preferred.
• CPR and first aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
