Job Opportunity: Locum Gastroenterology Physician - Springfield, MA

This locum position involves a mix of inpatient care with a call structure of approximately 1:4, working predominantly in hospital settings with opportunities for endoscopies and emergent consults. The facility is well-equipped with onsite lab and X-ray services, ensuring comprehensive care is provided. Coverage is needed starting mid-December 2025, with the potential for ongoing opportunities until a permanent physician is placed. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient gastroenterological care and perform necessary procedures.
- Manage emergent consults and endoscopies as required.
- Collaborate with a team of four physicians to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation using the EPIC EMR system.
- Perform required procedures including esophageal dilatation, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy.
- Engage in on-call responsibilities via beeper overnight.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (BC preferred).
- Active Massachusetts medical license is required.
- No outpatient coverage expectations.
- BLS certification is mandatory.
- ERCP certification is a nice-to-have.
License and Certification Requirements:
