Required Skills: Board Certification in Surgery or within 5 years of certification Active medical license (preferably) or eligibility Proven experience in general surgery, with competence in managing emergency and unassigned patients Ability to work independently and efficiently in a hospital setting Strong communication and teamwork skills Familiarity with hospital protocols and healthcare regulations Nice to Have Skills: Experience in a hospitalist or ICU setting Previous work in a stroke-certified hospital Ability to coordinate with hospitalists, ICU attendings, and surgical PAs Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and hospital devices Bilingual skills are a plus Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree (MD or DO) Completion of surgical residency program Minimum of 1-3 years clinical experience in general surgery, preferably in a hospital environment Other Requirements: Availability for 24-hour in-house shift work, including unassigned/ED cases Willingness to consult on inpatient cases and assist with emergent surgeries Ability to work flexible scheduling around holidays and weekends as needed Candidates based locally are highly preferred to ensure seamless coverage This position offers competitive pay at $1.00/hour, with weekly direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits, and additional perks such as referral bonuses, paid sick time, licensure and certification reimbursements, and travel stipends when applicable.
