Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Group Home & Day Habilitation Settings

Salary: $17.00 per hour

Location: Staten Island, NY

Education Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Licenses/Certifications Required:

• CPR/BLS Certification (required)

• Valid Driver’s License (preferred)

• AMAP Certification (highly preferred)

• Any additional medical certification (preferred)

Skills Required:

• Compassionate and respectful demeanor

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to follow kosher dietary laws and religious protocols

• Comfortable using hoyer lifts and supporting individuals in wheelchairs

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Shift/Schedule Information:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week

• Shifts available:

• 1st Shift (Morning): Personal care, breakfast preparation, daily activities

• 2nd Shift (Afternoon/Evening): Recreation, dinner preparation, evening routines

• 3rd Shift (Overnight): Safety checks, personal care, emergency response

• Staff must remain on-site until relief coverage arrives

  Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting individuals with hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation

  • Supporting community outings, therapy sessions, and habilitation programs

  • Administering medications (post-AMAP certification)

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment

  • Documenting daily activities, progress, and incidents

  • Participating in interdisciplinary planning and program meetings

  • Providing coverage across assigned program areas
