Job Responsibilities
- Provide simultaneous coverage of inpatient palliative consults, outpatient clinics, and home hospice services
- Collaborate with advanced practice providers to manage a patient census of 12-18 for the inpatient consult service
- Handle approximately 10 calls/pages during the day and 1 during the night
Qualifications
- Active MI medical license (preferred)
- Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (required)
- BLS Certification (required)
Working Hours
- On-call 24-hour shifts, 7 consecutive days
- Covered shifts are intermittent from March through May
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems, specifically Cerner
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Compassionate patient care, particularly in palliative and hospice settings
