This employed Infectious Disease physician position in Indiana involves outpatient clinic hours and inpatient care in collaboration with a Nurse Practitioner. NE IN group seeks Infectious Disrease physician. Outpatient clinic hours are M-F 8-5. Inpatients average daily census is 5. Both inpatient and outpatient duties are in conjunction with a Nurse Practitioner, and the NP ROUNDS ON WEEKENDS! Physician will also see inpatients with an ADC of 5, in conjunction with a Nurse Practitioner on the same campus. Physician will see new patient consults and design a plan of care for both out patients and in patients, again in conjunction with the NP, along with follow-up care. The NP rounds on weekends! There will be an opportunity to pick up additional inpatient shifts at the Main Campus in North Fort Wayne, on the hospitalist service, for vacation coverage, if desired. You would be compensated for any additional shifts you pick up Position will be as an employee of Parkview Physicians Group, and offers a competitive salary, full benefit package, student loan assistance, and sign on bonus. The outpatient clinic currently sees HIV patients, and the physician will be able to add Hep C patients if they want to. There is academic potential. They have a Family Medicine residency program that rotates through all 8 of their campuses. They also have a Medical School here at IUPUI, so teaching there would be an option. You COULD teach in the ID Fellowship program, and that would involve driving 125 mi to Indianapolis, which some of their specialists do. They have just had the Grand Opening of the Mirro Center for Research and Innovation on our Main Campus. This is a Center that has a large conference room that will seat 900, as well as class rooms and high fidelity simulation labs, so for the dude that wants to be involved in academia, there may be a chance on campus after all.
