Hospitalist Near Kansas City, MO
- Established single-specialty group is seeking a BC/BE Internist, Family Practitioner, or Internist/Pediatrician to join their Hospitalist team
- Base salary: $300,000
- 7 on/7 off scheduling, Monday - Sunday 7 am to 7 pm- with additional compensation for extra shifts
- Two physicians on during day shift - rotate responsibility for first call and admissions. Physicians take short call one day - can leave after rounds (approx 2 pm) and second call the following day (take 2nd call to night APP)
- Average patient census is 12-15 per physician with approximately 8 admissions per day
- 9-bed open ICU - with a census of 5-6 to 15-18 per physician
- Procedures optional - may seek privileges for lines, vents, and general inpatient procedures, if desired
- ER runs codes
- 2 APPs cover nights - doing rounds and admissions (sometimes morning rounds for follow up) and takes first call. They work 7pm - 7 am
- EMR: Meditech
