UT Tyler Health Science Center is searching for a Board-Certified Faculty Psychiatrist to join UT Health East Texas in its Pittsburg, TX location

About the Position:

• Monday Friday 8 AM 5 PM
• Precepting four psychiatry residents in an outpatient clinic setting
• Patient Load is 7-8 patients/day
• Primarily outpatient with inpatient and ER Consults
• Call rotates with our UT Health North Campus Psychiatry physicians
• Weekly Schedule Includes:
• 40% - Supervising psychiatry residents in our collaborative care service at UT Health Pittsburg
• 40% outpatient clinic
• 20% Academic Leadership Role

About UT Tyler School of Medicine:

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train future healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique needs of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations, particularly those in East Texas.

The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia. Construction is currently underway on a five-story, 248,000-square-foot Medical Education Building (MEB) in Tyler s Midtown District. Connected by a skybridge to UT Health Tyler, the MEB will support interdisciplinary education for medical students and resident training. UT Health Pittsburg (constructed 2009) and UT Health Quitman (constructed 2013) are each 25-bed critical access hospitals offering 24-hour emergency designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III Stroke Center; surgical suites, advanced diagnostic technology, sleep lab, and swing bed care to the communities they serve.
