The Pediatrician will provide primary care treatment to patients through a number of duties that include, but are not limited to, examining patients, identifying health concerns, recording medical history, prescribing medication, and/or referring patients to on-site or off-site resources.Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred The following statements describe the principal activities of this position identified and shall not be construed as a detailed exposition of all the duties that may be inherent in this position.Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:Provide medical care to pediatric patients ages 0-18 years oldExamine children regularly to assess their growth and developmentTreat children who have minor illnesses, infections, injuries, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concernsCollect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, medication, reports, and examination resultsPrescribe or administer treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in childrenPerform procedures within the providers scope of practiceOrder, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosisExplain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and parents or guardiansMonitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessaryRefer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessaryMaintain current and unrestricted licensures as requiredPlan and execute medical care programs to aid in the mental and physical growth and development of children and adolescentsProvide health and wellness advice to patients and caregiversDirect and supervise patient care personnel as requiredPrepare government or organizational reports of birth, death, disease statistics, or medical status of individuals as required or directed Education and Experience:Qualified candidates must possess a valid license to practice in CA, DEA and Board certification orEligible in Pediatric Medicine. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.Required Qualifications:Active and unrestricted California medical licenseBoard Certified or Eligible in PediatricsInternship and/or Residency completion as requiredCurrent and unrestricted DEA certificateCurrent CPR and BLS certificationPreferred Qualifications:Bilingual in SpanishEffective communication skillsAbility to work without direct supervision and practice autonomouslyAbility to work in fast-paced environment
