Locum Tenens Opportunity: Hematology/Oncology Physician Near Schenectady, NY (ASAP - Ongoing) We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity located near Schenectady, NY. This position is available ASAP and will continue on an ongoing basis. This role is essential for covering while we search for a full-time oncologist. Position Overview: Specialty: Hematology/Oncology Profession: Physician Start Date: ASAP (upon credentialing) Contract Length: Ongoing Shift Type: Day Shifts Shift Description: Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts Weekend Requirements: 1:5 weekend rotation Practice Details: Practice Setting: Inpatient and outpatient settings Patient Population: Adult Number of Physicians in Practice: 3 Radiation Oncologists: 4 full-time Radiation Oncologists on staff Advanced Practice Providers (APPs): 5 full-time APPs Clinical Areas: Hematology (50%), Oncology (50%) in both outpatient and inpatient settings Trauma Level/Designation: Community Hospital Documentation System/EMR: Epic Responsibilities: Inpatient & Outpatient Coverage: Provide comprehensive care in both settings, managing a mix of hematology and oncology cases. Weekend Coverage: Participate in a 1:5 weekend rotation. Clinical Duties: Manage patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up in both hematology and oncology. Requirements: Board Certification: Required in Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology. Certifications: ACLS certification is required. State License: An active New York state medical license is required. Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated at 1 month. Reimbursement: The facility will cover flight, hotel, and mileage billed at the IRS standard rate. Additional Information: Credentialing: Must be completed prior to starting the role.
