Hotel maintenance technician responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrical (up to 480V), HVAC, carpentry, painting, pool and kitchen equipment, and building/grounds at a newly opening 130-room hotel. Role includes responding to guest maintenance requests, performing routine testing and documentation, operating lifts/forklifts, and adhering to safety procedures including lockout/tagout. Full-time position with benefits, weekend/holiday/emergency availability, physical demands (lifting, working at heights, snow removal) and requirement for technical schooling or equivalent experience.

This position is responsible for maintaining the efficient repair and condition of all assets of Hershey Inn and Suites.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Conduct maintenance and preventive maintenance of plumbing, electrical (up to 480 volts), HVAC, carpentry, and painting.*

Monitor and complete pool equipment repairs and projects, including scheduled testing of required chemical levels.*

Install and repair kitchen equipment. Ensure proper troubleshooting and repair of dishwasher water lines, valves, and low pressure steam lines as needed.

Maintain building and grounds, including cosmetic appearance repairs, clean up, and recycling duties.*

Respond in a timely and professional manner to guest room calls for general maintenance.*

Complete shift reports detailing work performed to ensure efficient communication with other team members and supervisor.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
-
Must have verifiable work experience in hotel (or similar industry) maintenance including preventive maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and kitchen repair.

Technical schooling or four years of related work experience in the above trades is required and must be verifiable.

Valid driver’s license required

Ability to be certified and operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other similar equipment.

This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug test.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Must be dependable and self-motivated. Able to work alone or with minimal supervision.

Ability to accurately identify and report on water, electric, and gas meters. Must have working knowledge to use an electric meter to identify the presence of electricity, as well as working knowledge of lockout/tagout system.

Must have working knowledge of plumbing to include basic repairs to toilets, faucets, and drain lines of tubs/sinks.

Ability to use and understand test equipment, schematic circuits, and blueprints.

Ability to follow all established safety and energy conservation procedures.
Job Demands:
-
Normal working hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm, 3:00pm to 11:30pm. Must be flexible working weekends, holidays, and in responding to emergencies after hours.

Exposure to cleaning and general maintenance chemicals.
-
Required to lift at least 50 lbs.
-
Shovel snow and endure cold temperatures for a long period of time.
-
Must be able to work at heights over 20 feet and work on a stepladder.
