- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum 1 year experience as LV Special Education Teacher and experience with children birth–21 with visual impairments
- Proficiency in Braille, large print, talking software, optical aids, and assistive tech
- Ability to develop IEPs, administer criterion/norm-referenced tests, and manage school caseloads

About the Role: Provide educational services to low vision students in K-12 school settings. You'll conduct assessments, develop educational plans, and deliver direct therapy to help students improve communication skills and access their education. This role collaborates closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes.
CEU/license reimbursement and tuition assistance Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) Use criterion and norm-referenced tests to assess pupils' visual functioning, communication, motor, social, self-help, academic, vocational, and cognitive skills. Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable goals and objectives based on assessments, child development principles, and learning continuums. ~ Facilitate student integration into regular education programs and assist in explaining disabilities. ~ Provide consultation and resources to regular classroom teachers. ~ Maintain a positive learning environment, monitor student progress, and adjust teaching strategies as needed. Prepare and execute daily lesson plans, utilizing diverse materials and techniques. ~ Attend required meetings and share materials with colleagues. ~Maintain mental acuity for data interpretation and problem-solving. ~ Education & Credentials: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Specialized Skills: Proficiency in braille reading and writing, and use of technological devices and optical aids. Knowledge of Braille, large print, and talking software technology. Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff and the public. Effective oral and written communication in English. Experience working with children with visual impairments (birth through 21 years) and severe disabilities. Teaching experience in general education settings. One year of experience as LV Special Education Teacher Knowledge of evidence-based practices and special education programs Experience with school-based caseload management
