Oncology PhysicianBuffalo, NY(Locum Tenens)Position Overview:We have an immediate need for Two (2) locum Oncology Physicians to provide interventional procedures for our veteran population at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in veterans lives while experiencing the beauty of upstate New York.Responsibilities: Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in an inpatient and outpatient clinic setting. Evaluate, triage and prioritize consults from primary care and other services for outpatient oncology consultations. Obtain medical history, conduct physical examinations, order and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment for patients. Coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care providers and other personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system. Perform administrative tasks as assigned such as peer review and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations. Provide oncology on-call services as assigned.Must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine and be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine Medical Oncology Board.Credentialling and onboarding takes approximately 4-6 weeks.Hours & Schedule: Standard Administrative Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am 4:30pm (excluding federal holidays). Specific clinic times to be identified upon start of assignment On-call hours requiredSalary:$1400 - $1800 dailyTravel Necessary:There will be an expectation to conduct clinic at the Batavia VAMC and Olean CBOC in accordance with patient volume for oncology services. The frequency of clinic at these locations will be reoccurring with a minimum of one day per quarter and a maximum of one day per week for each location. Batavia is 36.4 miles from the primary location in Buffalo.
