Job DescriptionThe Rehabilitation Medical-Surgical Nurse combines medical-surgical nursing with intensive rehabilitation, focusing on patients recovering from surgery, serious illness, or injury. The role involves restoring function and independence through therapies and specialized medical/nursing care, often in an inpatient setting, aiming to improve quality of life by treating the whole person.
Responsibilities- Coordinate total nursing care for patients.
- Participate in patient and family teaching.
- Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel.
- May be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse.
- 2 years of recent Med-Surg Rehab experience.
- Charge RN experience required.
- Must be willing to float between Acute Rehab and Med-Surg as needed.
- Previous travel experience (at least 3 months) required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
- Current New Hampshire RN license or Compact license.
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.
