Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing training and protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
Monitor access control points and verify identification as required for entry to restricted areas within the location.
Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or security-related concerns to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives.
Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential disruptions and promote a secure environment within the manufacturing and industrial setting.
Assist with emergency response procedures, including evacuations and medical emergencies, as directed by site protocols.
Complete detailed and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs as required by Allied Universal policies.

Minimum Requirements:

At least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
Act 235 qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
