The Instrument Technician 2 is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of emissions testing equipment to ensure accurate and efficient operation. This role supports environmental compliance efforts by troubleshooting and maintaining specialized industrial instruments used in emissions testing. The position requires relevant technical experience, knowledge of environmental standards, and strong problem-solving skills in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.
Our client, an industry leader in emissions testing and environmental compliance, is seeking an Instrument Technician to join their team. As an Instrument Technician, you will be part of the technical support department supporting emissions testing operations.

Pay Range: $22 - $25 per hour
What's the Job?
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on emissions testing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Examine work orders and communicate with equipment operators to identify and resolve issues.
- Set up and test industrial equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety standards.
- Operate testing equipment to demonstrate proper use and analyze malfunctions for troubleshooting.
- Calibrate testing instruments and repair or replace defective components to maintain accuracy.
What's Needed?
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience/training in a related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in equipment calibration, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of EPA 1065, 1066, Euro certification, or gas analysis preferred.
- Experience working with lab equipment and exposure to emissions testing environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
