The Rail Operations Clerk coordinates and monitors inbound and outbound rail schedules, manages billing and vendor invoice reconciliation using SAP, and acts as a liaison between logistics partners and internal teams. The role includes administrative tasks related to railcar cleaning, safety inspections, and supporting plant clerical operations with logistics coordination. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and operates within a quarry plant environment requiring PPE and physical activity.

What You'll Be Doing
Monitor, coordinate, and reconcile inbound/outbound rail schedules, and enter billing in SAP.
Serve as primary liaison between HM Logistics, Union Pacific, internal/external customers, and third-party vendors.
Reconcile vendor invoices, schedule railcar cleaning, and maintain rail-related administrative records.
Provide on-call support and cross-train in scale house operations and truck automation procedures.
Coordinate logistics for special events, handle non-PO package shipments, enter purchase requisitions, and serve as a back-up for the plant clerical staff.
Engage in plant safety walkthroughs and inspections to ensure compliance and promote a safe work environment.
Work Schedule Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 4:30pm and rotational weekends (SAT & SUN).
What Are We Looking For
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Rail industry knowledge is a plus
Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
Work Environment
Position is based in a plant quarry setting within the plant environment.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
Ability to work in varying plant conditions.
