Med/Surg RN Job Details – Newburyport, MA

• Location: Newburyport, MA 01950 (Massachusetts nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 4 weeks (February 2, 2026 – February 28, 2026)
• Healthcare Setting: Float Pool (Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units)
• Shifts: 12-hour rotating shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a), every other weekend and holiday
• Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed (72 hours biweekly)
• Self-Scheduling: Yes (with schedule balancing by management)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,150 - $2,300

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Massachusetts RN license preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Experience with Telemetry nursing preferred
• Ability to float between Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units as needed

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses in a clinical setting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios (5:1 days/evenings, 6:1 nights for Med/Surg; 4:1 days/evenings, 5:1 nights for Telemetry)
• Participate in self-scheduling and communicate special requests as needed
• Deliver compassionate support to patients and families in a hospital environment
