University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is searching for an experienced Emergency Medicine physician leader to serve as the inaugural Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director at its growing academic institution in Tyler, TX.
This is an opportunity to spearhead the development, approval, and implementation of an Emergency Medicine Residency Program. The incoming Program Director will be integral to assisting the UT Tyler School of Medicine including the region's only Level I Trauma Center, in its mission of cultivating a new generation of physicians prepared to improve healthcare outcomes and enhance the quality of life in East Texas.
Position Highlights:
- Advanced Care: UT Health Tyler, a 502-bed tertiary facility that is home to a Level II Primary Stroke Center, and the hub for UT Health East Texas EMS and AIR 1.
- Team Composition : 16 Emergency Medicine Physicians and 8 Advanced Practice Providers.
- Facility Details : 36 ED beds, including three exam rooms, currently staffed at 24 (12 holding beds).
- Administrative Time: At least 50% of the Program Director's time will be administrative time.
- Clinical Time: 4-6 shifts/month (12 hour shifts and competitive hourly rate)
- Advanced Simulation Center: w/ dedicated UT Tyler SOM faculty and support staff
