Executive Chef Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior kitchen leadership role
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and retain a kitchen team
- Strong background in classic American cuisine and high-volume execution
- Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen compliance standards
Executive Chef Must Haves
- Ability to personally cook and execute simple, well-prepared food consistently
- Hands-on leadership style with a calm, steady presence in the kitchen
- Strong control of ordering, inventory, and food cost management
- Clear communication skills with both BOH and FOH leadership
Executive Chef Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience in casual or polished-casual full-service restaurants
- History of maintaining stable teams and low turnover
- Comfort working within an established menu and concept
- Financial awareness, including labor, waste reduction, and portion control
