Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position requiring at least 1 year of cardiac and neuro experience, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and a SC or Compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care hospital Cardiovascular ICU
- Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (7p-7a)
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
- Floating required to like units as needed, with agency staff floating first
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Royal blue scrubs required
- No on-call requirement
- Primary duties include caring for critically ill cardiovascular and neuro patients
- Pre-start online modules are required prior to orientation (non-billable, approximately 4 hours)
- All requested time off must be declared prior to offer; approval based on facility needs
- Holiday rotations and flexibility required during peak periods, including hurricane season
- Parking is provided at no cost
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
Requirements
- Active SC or Compact RN license in hand prior to start
- Minimum of 1 year of recent cardiovascular ICU experience required; 2 years preferred
- Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Cardiac and neuro experience required
- Experience with Epic charting preferred
- SSN and Driver’s License required for consideration
- Previous permanent or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation from the health system
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility
