Job DescriptionThe Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) will provide high-quality nursing care to patients presenting with a variety of conditions, including chest pain, stroke, sepsis, and trauma. The ideal candidate will have experience in a busy emergency department and demonstrate strong clinical skills in a range of emergency situations.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for emergency department patients.
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to meet patients' needs.
- Utilize EPIC charting system for recording patient information and care.
- Provide care to patients of all age ranges, ensuring high standards of safety and quality.
- Perform procedures such as intubation, central line management, and chest tube insertion as needed.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately.
- Engage in patient and family education within the emergency care setting.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in an emergency department setting.
- Current RN license in the state of Maryland or compact license.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI, and TNCC certifications.
- Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers with 5+ years of experience considered.
- Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
