American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma and circulating experience for a day shift assignment, requiring an active IN or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care hospital
- Patient population includes general surgery, plastics, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, and colorectal robotics
- Average daily census is 70-80 with 21 operating rooms
- Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 11:00 to 23:30
- On-call required: 6 call shifts within a 6-week period
- Holiday coverage required; must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Floating required within hospital or to affiliate hospitals and within OR specialties as needed
- Uses Cerner EMR
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- OR RNs will be floated as needed to various surgical specialties except cardiovascular and transplant
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Must be able to provide documentation including application, skills checklist, license verification, and certifications
- Free parking is available on site
- Local candidates are accepted for this position, but a reduced rate applies to those residing within Indiana
- Up to 5 days of requested time off may be auto-approved
- Active IN or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience, with at least 2 years of Level I trauma OR experience required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Experience circulating in the OR required; scrub experience preferred but not mandatory
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Prior experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Cannot accept RNs who worked as perm or PRN employees at this facility within the last 12 months
- Pending licenses not accepted
