Position Overview: Position Type: Locum Tenens, PRN basis Specialty: General Medicine Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Shift Type: Days (flexible hours) Responsibilities: Compensation & Pension (C&P) Exams: Conduct one-time, non-treatment exams and separation health assessments for veterans. Exams are primarily interview-based, with some physical assessment (e.g., range of motion and muscle strength testing). No prescribing or ongoing treatment required. Coverage Options: Option 1: Travel and perform exams at a designated leased facility. Option 2: Schedule veterans within your own practice. Work either half-days (4-hour shifts) or full-days (8-hour shifts) depending on your availability. Qualifications: Board Certification: Required in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or other general medicine backgrounds. Proficiency in: Musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular evaluations. METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions. Experience using a goniometer for physical assessments. Certification Requirements: Board Certified physician. Active and unrestricted medical license in Idaho. Willingness to complete DMA certification (CME credits available). This certification is necessary after privileging, though expenses for DMA certification and portal training are not covered.
