Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87102
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 01/19/2026 – End: 04/20/2026)
• Nursing Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30); options for 36 or 48 hours/week
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Openings Available: 5 Med/Surg RN positions

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New Mexico or Compact RN license (required at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR charting system preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Background in community hospital, LTAC, or Trauma Level I/II settings preferred
• Willingness to float to similar nursing units as needed
• First-time travel nurses welcome!

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting
• Manage patient ratios up to 8:1
• Administer blood products, anticoagulants, antiseizure medications, and insulin protocols
• Perform wound care, pressure ulcer prevention, and post-surgical management
• Monitor blood glucose, manage feeding tubes, and provide tracheostomy care
• Assess and prevent fall risks, conduct pain assessments, and educate patients on chronic conditions
• Utilize assistive devices, specialty beds, and adaptive equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV teams and phlebotomy
• Float to similar Med/Surg units within scope as required
