Locum Tenens Interventional Cardiology Physician Location: Near Ishpeming, MIDates: ASAP - Ongoing We are seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiology Physician for a locum tenens position near Ishpeming, MI. This role involves providing coverage for interventional cardiology services in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Position Overview: Position Type: Locum Tenens Specialty: Interventional Cardiology Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Coverage Type: Call Only Shift Type: Variable EMR Systems: McKesson and Athena Key Responsibilities: Coverage Dates: Immediate start Practice Setting: Outpatient and inpatient Patients Per Shift: Variable Bed In Department: 10 Rounding: Both scheduled and as needed Typical Work Hours: 8-9 hour day, Monday through Friday Night Call: 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM the following day Procedures: STEMI coverage, interventional cardiology procedures as needed Team: Hospital service with 2-3 APPs (Advanced Practice Providers) Consultations: APPs perform initial consults and present to the cardiologist Qualifications: Board Certification: Required Fellowship: Required Licensure: Licensed in Michigan only Certifications: ACLS required Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 30 days with complete returned application Clean Background: Essential for obtaining emergency privileges TEEs: Optional; not required but a plus Non-Invasive Reading: Not a primary role; sporadic echo or nuc study reading may occur Additional Details: Hospital Service: Typically managed by cardiologists and APPs, with hospitalists handling admissions Interventional Cardiology Coverage: Available during weekdays with a dedicated cardiologist on call for weekends No Primary Non-Invasive Reading: If the locum can perform TEE, occasional TEE procedures may be required but not mandatory This position is ideal for a skilled interventional cardiologist who is flexible, has a strong background in emergency cardiology, and is comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.
